We are convinced that nowadays good wines are made in the vineyard, carefully nurturing it at every opportunity. In Clemente’s case, where he feels most at home is in the vineyard, in the three hectares where he works with organic and sustainable winegrowing. It may be because he is the grandson of winegrowers and because he began to love the vineyard from his earliest childhood and started running the family business at the age of 18, but all his efforts are focused on looking after our grapes.
At Bodega Clemente García we have vineyards of Grenache and Tempranillo between 25 and 75 years old and others of Viura with an average age of 60 years old. All of them are located in Baños de Río Tobía, one of the highest and coldest areas of Rioja Alta, at an altitude of between 560 and 740 metres, where we cultivate organically and practice under the ‘wine of the municipality’ restrictions.
